FNF Darnell's Mixtape is a MOD that puts Darnell in the spotlight, letting you play as him across 20 remixed versions of the original Friday Night Funkin' songs. On top of that, it includes 2 additional bonus tracks (Burpnell and Welcome Old) and subtle visual changes to some of the stage backgrounds. If you've ever wanted to hear the base game's catalog through Darnell's voice, this is the MOD for you.

Darnell's Mixtape vs FNF Lit Up

It's worth clarifying that Darnell's Mixtape and FNF Lit Up are completely separate MODs, even though they share the same concept of making Darnell playable and remixing the original songs with his voice. Both projects were developed independently by different teams with their own creative direction. The results are similar in some ways, but each MOD has its own identity and style — so if you enjoy one, you'll probably want to try the other as well.

The developers have announced that future updates will bring original weeks designed entirely by them, with Darnell as the protagonist. This is exciting because it means the MOD won't just be remixes forever — there's original content on the horizon.

Compatibility & Installation

Darnell's Mixtape is compatible with V-Slice, so you can play it on FNF Mobile. However, keep in mind that there's no version specifically optimized for mobile devices, which means it could run into issues on lower-end phones. Hopefully a fully optimized mobile build will come in the future, but for now it works well enough on most devices. Place the downloaded files inside the MODs folder of your FNF Mobile app to get started.

About Darnell

Darnell is one of the main characters in Pico's School and a classmate of Pico. He's well-known for his love of fire and pyrotechnics — in the original Pico's School game, he was the explosives expert of the group. In Friday Night Funkin', Darnell appears as a character in WeekEnd 1, where he battles Boyfriend with his signature fiery energy. His chromatic scale is one of the most distinctive voices in the base game, which is exactly why MODs like this one work so well — his vocal style gives a completely different vibe to every song he touches.
